Does anyone know of a GP in essex that tests for FT3, and RT3, or if they know of a Endocrinoligist who will test for them?
Thanks
Corinne

RT3 testing will almost certainly have to be outwith the NHS. Very few, if any, NHS labs run RT3 tests.
The failure of people to get FT3 tests from GPs seems very often to stem from the lab refusing to do the test even if it is requested by a GP.
Have a look here:

Some tests can be done on finger-prick samples which often makes life easier.

I got a recent quote from my local private health screening clinic for £122 to do reverse T3 test.
They said it needs freezing and sending off- so I can see why it's a tad pricey!
My process was to get TPO/thyroglobulin antibodies checked first to reduce autoimmune concerns -and a 9am cortisol test, too. These are cheaper to do- but not enough data in my case ,as yet.
Thisb RT3 is one test that escapes the finger tip approach- maybe, Rod!
Hi Do not go to a private hospital ever for any bloods, they charge the earth. The same Lab as most of the private hospitals is on line Blue Horizon, main site ( lab TDL). You can have all the NHS tests and more, considered by consultants to be better tests and more accurate and a fraction of the cost. main site, quote TUK 10 for a discount, TSH, T4 and Fre T3 , finger prick or venous bloods, £61-£70. Results to you ,very simple. Then show them to any doc you wish, for treatment.Lots of other tests too.
Best wishes,
Jackie

Fair points Jackie- but I'm having enough trouble getting tests accepted by GP from BMI hospital [private], never mind through the post- however good.
Also, RT3 point point still stands [above] -on procedure needed.
