Can anyone help. I have noticed a swelling on the thyroid area and as the year goes on it is getting bigger, No pain, Just a soft swelling.

Hi This is common, but do makes sure you have an ultra sound, especially if swollowing and speaking, voice, difficult. You may have nodules too, very common but routine important to have a needle biopsy. radiologist, under ultra sound.

Thank you, I have a blood test on Monday and then appointment to see the doctor the week after. I will show him the swelling although you can't miss it. Having the knowledge is great i now know what questions to ask. Thank you again

Sounds like you have a goitre. Please go to the doctor to have it checked out to make sure what it is. I had one for 9 years. Good luck

Thank you Mumtoboy. My grandma had a goitre i think that was in the 1940/50s. So i will take your advice.

Sounds like nodules/goitre. I am actually having an operation on 24/6 to remove my thyroid gland due to this. Best to have it checked as it wont go away and later will affect your swalowing and starts to feel nasty ( preassure feeling in the throat) .
