My doctor has told me i am having too much thyroxine which at the moment is 100 micg per day. he has reduced this to 75 micg per day,

Did the dr give you a reason why they thought you were on too much ?

He just said the dosage was too high so reduced it and I am worried that I might gain weight

I suspect he reduced your dosage based on blood test results. Or have you had symptoms of over-medication?

Did you recently have blood tests done? If you did, find out the actual results and their laboratory ranges and post them here so that people can give advice on them.

Doctors often treat patients on blood tests alone but it is better to look at a combination of symptoms and blood tests to find the best treatment for the individual.

Do you have any remaining symptoms of hypothyroidism? Here is the ThyroidUK list which is useful:

People won't have everything on their of course. Everyone is different too, but it's worth looking at because sometimes you may have a symptoms that you don't realise is thyroid related (this was true with me).
