I had a TT in April this year and on125 mcg Thyroxine. I take it at night and have had no issues apart from now. For the last week I've been getting chest tightening and cramp like pain at the top of each shoulder at the front. The pain eases when I sit up but wakes me up and causes agony that reminds me of being in labour! I need paracetamol to relieve it. A recent blood test satisfied the doctors that the dose was correct. Will this pass or do I need to see my GP. Does anyone have experience or advice for me?

Chest spasm and pain at the top of both shoulders.
My advice is not to delay in seeking skilled medical advice and let those who have the skills deal with this pain and tightening chest. That is their job, do not be embarrassed or diffident about seeking immediate help and reassurance.
Hi You do need medical advice. The pain you describe is often referred pain. pancreas, gall bladder or Caeliac disease, the most common. They can a;; be hormonal and autoimmune, so related in that way. Both arms is not normally heart related, I have lots of heart problems, arrests, MI end stage heart failure etc.
I hope that helps. If the paracetomol is working and pain not waking you, it is OK to wait a little and see. I have a lot of these problems and strong opiates do not work for me, in any way.
I hope this helps,
Jackie
I was hospitalized with agonizing chest pains/suspected heart attack but it wasn't my heart. I was prescribed magnesium tablets and the pain hasn't returned (over a year). Having said that, I would get it checked out to eliminate anything serious.
