Hi,

Can anyone advise me please, I have been using T3 for just over three weeks, as I am no longer converting T4. I spoke to Dr P ten days ago, who is great, he said to increase my prednisolone to 7.5mg to help the T3 absorb, which I did and was fairly ok, but still not well as I was only taking 10cmg T3. He also said to stop the remaining 25mcg T4 as this was not helping things, so I did and wasn't too bad. I increased the T3 to 11.25mcg, then up to 12.5mcg, then 13.75mcg and now since Saturday 15mcg. I take 7.5mcg at 5.30am, 5mcg at 11.00 and 2.5mcg at 4.30.

My body really needs it but on Sunday I went shopping and felt awful, I thought I was going to collapse in a heap, I used to feel like this years ago before any adrenal support. But since taking Prednisolone now for a couple of years it all went away and last year I felt quite good all year. When I got home I had some spotting, which is unusual as I havn't had a proper period for 2 and a half years, my stomach has swollen and I have gaind three pound in two days. I feel awful and just plain weird. During the night last night I woke at 3.30am and felt really weird, my head felt heavy and strange and I hurt all over, my back pain has all come back again, at 5.30 when I had my dose I just burst out crying and couldn't stop. My poor husband doesn't know what to do with me. I wondered if it could be that I am now having too much Prednisolone, could my adrenals be trying to kick in and causing too much cortisol. I just don't know what to do, I feel quite scared at the moment and exhausted. You wouldn't believe how long it has taken me to type this message, i hope it makes sense.

Thank you,

Tracy x

Could be hormonal? Maybe having a T3 is allowing the rest of your body to function? II hope things calm down, it does take time for the body to settle with new changes, often weeks. Sorry that's not a very useful answer!

I think you are right, the hormones aren't quite right and I have had a low T3 for a while, so

it all seems a bit weird.

Thanks

It might be an idea to ring Dr P's office and ask for advice. You are on a very low dose of T3 so you might need to increase it. But it would be best to ask.

I decided to call Dr P's office and they have been helpful, they advised to add a little T4 so I am trying 12.5mg to see how I go. The trouble is I need T3 but it

always seems to cause me a problem and when I add it to T4 my pulse goes a bit crazy and I get the jitters, don't know why, just wish I could take the dose

I need without having the problems.

Thanks

I would get your spotting checked out, if you havent had a period for a couple of years x x

Thanks, I should have said I am going through the menopause, which doesn't help matters. I thought it was all done and dusted.
