I can't get Eltroxin, where can I get Levothyroxine Mercury brand near Watford
The big supermarkets are normally very good at keeping good quantities. There is a production issue at the moment, which is most probably why you are finding it hard to get your normal script filled. It might be a case of phoning around your local supermarkets to see what they have in stock.

I read it was withdrawn because of potency - not production.
Here is a statement that Mercury put out regarding the shortage, one for the GP's and one for the patients and in the GP's one they state that all ingredient, both active and inactive are the same so I assumed that it was a production issue and not a potency issue.

Shaws, where did you read that there was a potency issue with Eltroxin? As the exact same tablets are packaged as MercuyPharma also (which is still available), it cannot be a potency issue. So wherever you read that would seem to be giving out the wrong information!
The unavailability of Eltroxin has been reported on the Thyroid UK news section since early March

.
I read it here
Thanks v.much. I've been ringing around and one chemist has small supply of Mercury brand which is compatible but say they never know which brand is coming in to them! Off to get it immediately. Also phoned Goldshield - Eltroxin is not discontinued, just not being made at the moment. Frustrating or what!!

I have also just phone mercury, as I use this product and wanted to know if there is a potency issue and have been assured that there is not - all I could get out of them was that there is technical issues regarding the manufacturing.
Hope you get your script filled.

I could not get it either so have gone for Mercury Phama Levo x
Which according to mercury has exactly the same ingredient - see link above.

Typical! Doesn't help the patient at all - and I always thought it was in the patient's best interests.
