Not been on for a while so posting an update and for info regarding my 10yr old daughter.

They still cant get her thyroid under control so they are now giving her 75mcg of thyroxine one day and 100mcg the next then repeat ever day ..this has only added to her symptoms has she is up and down with this new dose, but they are not seeing her at the endo clinic for another 5wks ...her last results showed she was not getting enough thyroxine yet the one before that showed she was getting to much ..does anyone have any advice on why it is constantly up and down..she was diagnosed last yr with hypothyroidism .

Are they going by TSH only? If so, I personally feel that this is misguided. Children that age are growing all the time and I suspect their TSH fluctuates accordingly. They may be better dosing by symptoms and checking that her T3 is within range, but of course they don't like doing that.

Please make sure that, whatever they are testing, they are using the paediatric ranges. These are different than the adult ones.

I'm sorry she is having such a rough time with this. I hope you get the answers soon!
