Hi I'm 23 and was diagnosed with ibs on Friday. I have all related symptoms bar one I have tiny bits off blood on my stool is this normal?

Been checked about the blood but nothing has came up I'm also due to see a tummy expert soon so I will bring up the blood isue then also hope you canna help stressed out is not the word lol

Hi as an Ibs sufferer it is possible to have blood or mucus in your stools but obviously it is important to get it checked just to make sure it's nothing else. If you get constipated and have to force this can cause piles internally or externally which can show small traces of blood. Obviously being safe is better than being sorry do u should always see a doc. As for stressing even though its easier said than done stressing does make Ibs a lot worse so try to stay stress free as much as possible. Good luck

i found out when I'm wiping my bum there has been spots of blood

If it's bright red, it's fresh blood and that's indicative of an issue in the back passage. It could simply be a small tear or piles; In my case, it was a small tear and it will never heal properly so it's a constant thing I just have but nothing serious!
