Hi. I have had IBS for over 30 years from a child, but have just been told I have Lymphocytic Colitis. Does anyone else have this?.
Hi, Yes I have lymphocytic colitis too. It can be very inconvenient and embarrassing when you want to have a full life. I am controlling my symptoms reasonably well with a gluten and lactose free diet. I am getting used to finding alternatives and it is worth it to avoid symptoms. I had a thyroidectomy thirteen years ago after autoimmune disease stopped my thyroid functioning but it seems that autoimmune symptoms keep coming back!
I have had steroids and sulfasalazine in the past plus the usual anti diarrhoeal agents but for me the diet works better than the drugs. I hope you can find a way to cope with the problems this disease brings. Best wishes.
I suffer form this as well, I cannot use Imodium as it makes me worse , fills me up with gas, bloating , and pain. I have been on budesonide for about 6 months , it worked at first, but my flare ups are starting up again, and they last days to a week, I miss a lot of work , with no pay as I have used up my sick pay. I have FLMA papers that the doctor fills out for work , but this does not help me when iam out with no pay. Thhinking of applying for disability as this condition causes me great anxiety and depression. I work in a special ed classroom and its not easy to just run to the bathroom and not fun working with a sick stomach. There are food I have eliminated like whole grains, certain veggies, seeds nuts, diary. I still suffer.
