Has any of you who are usually constipated experienced thin and even flat(ish) stools before? Someone told me once it may be caused by your bowel spasms apparently...

Hi

One of the recognised symptoms of IBS are pencil thin and funny shaped stools. I'm sure it is spasms - worrying about it makes everything worse!!

yes i know how you feel hazel. My doctor says i have IBS and until recently it was under as much control as it could be however im now like you feeling hellish my problems are now daily and i have had the problems with stools like yourself only with me i never know from one day to the next what mine are going to be like or even how many times in a day i might need to go. have to say right now i feel like IBS is ruling my life and i hate it.

Yes I get these sort of stools. I guess its when the bowel is in spasm and the lumen of the bowel is thin.
