Normal poo then many small thin pieces

I have one hemorrhoid connected to my anus skin tag, they have been sometimes causing me pain and discomfort down there. I eat healthy, exercise almost everyday, drink lots of water. However, sometimes I would have very weird day with pooping. I would have 3 nice big poo come out then followed by many small thin pieces which I have to push (by breathing in and out slowly, not straining since I dont want to cause my butt to be painful). Days like this I have to stay on the toilet for around 30 mins to get them all out, leading to me having pain on my hemorrhoid from sitting on the loo for too long. I know you may say that I should get on with my day but these pieces are stuck right at my butthole so I can’t ignore the feelings and go away until I finish. Doctors have checked me many times and all confirmed I’m healthy (touchwood), is it normal to you? I’m diagnosed with anxiety disorder as well so I’m worried about it

Sorry to hear you are in so much discomfort. It’s literally a pain in the butt isn’t it? Have you tried glycerin suppositories?

I saw a doctor a few days ago, she said to use ointment after I have days like this, didnt mention about suppository…

I have internal haemorrhoids and have to use a pair of glycerine suppositories to empty my bowels. Doesn't always work. Worth a try?

I sympathise with you as I have this problem.

I had 2 colonoscopies recently and it showed small haemorrhoids. Each colonoscopy resulted in polyps being found, biopsy benign.

I very often can’t poo first thing in morning even though I know I need to. The feeling, like you, is that it’s sitting there but it’s almost like I’ve got something stopping poo coming out (sorry for being blunt). After breakfast I go fine, no struggle or sitting on pan for ages. I often go 4/5 a day and am trying to hold on instead of panicking as it’s taking over my life now and turning down invites.

I’ve started eating prunes with my cereal- e a day. They come in a resealable bag from Sainsbury’s.

I do the breathing as well and am sometimes what I class as normal and I think great. Then I go again and get very thin stools which worry me.

All this advertising doesn’t help about bowel cancer.

My GP recommended glycerin suppositories and Lactulose oral as and when for constipation.

Hope the answers on here help you.

I actually have weird issues with prunes, they work too fast in my system, I barely cant hold it after consuming prunes/prunes juice, all diarrhea tho. Also I cant eat cereals as well, all kinds of nuts just never get digested well for me and end up hurting me. I guess I’m too oversensitive with food…

I will note down suppository, I got prescribed with Laxido every third day so I’m still seeing how my body will be like

Good luck - just shows how different we all are so this site is crucial.

My symptoms were definitely worse after hysterectomy and gall bladder removal.

My bowel issues have been hell since I had my gall bladder removed. Never had a problem before the surgery. Annoyingly my gall bladder was whipped out as they couldnt find the source of my abdominal pain which turned out to be a trapped epigastric nerve so all done for nothing and caused me this hell ever since. Its ruined me. Wishing you well.

That’s awful. Apparently hysterectomy and gall bladder removal is known to causing IBS. I was told this afterwards. I tried hypnosis which helped a bit after hysterectomy but gall bladder op recently has made it come back 10 times worse.

Glad we can all talk on here. Wishing you well as well.
