hi new to this forum . . I’ve recently the last3 months Been suffering with constipation quite bad I’ve taken duculax and that helped then upped to 2 tablets as wasnt going which helped abit afew weeks ago I had to take suppository to go as duculax wasnt working which I did then go but like pebbles I spoke to nurse at the doctors who wasn’t helpful at all who said to basically eat oranges and take suppository 😡 I eat lots of fruit and vegetables drink plenty of water and quite into my fitness My question is how often can I take suppositories? I’m taking one a week atm but I’m still struggling to go They make me go but like I said my stools are like pebbles and after I’ve had one I go back to where I can’t go again . . . .i was told I had ibs 15 years ago the gp said it was stress of losing a parent but it was the other way around then I couldn’t stop going 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️but over the years my toilet habits so to speak have been normal untill afew months ago I feel full all the time but haven’t lost weight and have the urge to go but nothing happens . . . I have a few stomach cramps but it’s usually at the top of my stomach not my sides any help would be appreciated 😊 Sorry for all the information it’s getting to a point now where I don’t know what to do 🤷‍♀️xx

Electrolyte imbalance, not enough magnesium, too much salt. Plenty of water will only dilute electrolytes, if eating loads of fruit especially in to extent veg you get lots water already.

You can still have electrolyte imbalance and have levels with range, thats why you have symptoms. You can take suppositories but how much water are you drinking and are you regularly getting the RDA of all essential minerals, your fitness deplete many things, I've had similiar.
