It started about two weeks ago, when I went to the toilet to pass a very hard stool when I saw bright red blood on my toilet paper, then I had a mild diarrhoea the next day, basically getting everything out but there was no blood at all. Then after the four days, I passed another hard stool again with blood again after wiping I took softener to help with my stools and it did, I found no blood whenever I go to the toilet then after. However I've been having constipation again for the past 3 days already and then this morning another hard stool again with blood on the toilet paper. This has been stressing me out along with everything else with my life at home and school I don't know what's wrong with me. I never had this sort of problem before and I believe that I'm quite on the healthy side as I often exercise, drink lots of water, mostly eat the right foods. Could it be just anal fissure? or something else? Please help
blood in toilet paper: It started about two... - IBS Network
blood in toilet paper
It could be haemorrhoids (piles) which can be brought on by passing hard stools. I would suggest you go to a doctor to give you peace of mind if it still happens.
The switch between diarrhoea and constipation often occurs with IBS
I agree with sashapet above that the blood you're seeing is probably from internal haemorrhoids or might be an anal tear. If the blood is clear, bright red and not intermingled with stool, it's highly unlikely to be anything more serious.
Ask your GP for a rectal exam to put your mind at rest.
I had this last year on 3 seperate occasions 3 months apart.
I ended up having a flexible sigmoidoscopy and harmless polyps removed, waiting now for colonoscopy and removal of remaining polyps, funnily enough now blood spots since the sigmoidoscopy.
That should have said,no blood spots since sigmoidoscopy.
I'm thinking because your passing hard a toolkits likely that your an us has got a little tear I and that some why your noticing the blood then. Xxx
Go see a doctor
I also agree with sashapet and also what Pagan has said. I have in the past had blood on the toilet paper and it's always when I am constipated but as soon as I go to the toilet normally I am fine. Best check with your doctor though so he/she can put your mind at rest.
