Short Survey!!

Please if you have 5 minutes to spare can you fill in this survey - forms.office.com/e/RdAjTSrY9x.

As part of my dissertation at uni I am looking at the relationship between physical activity and IBS symptom severity. I would greatly appreciate if anyone with IBS could complete the survey and so help improve knowledge on the potential benefits for IBS symptoms.

Thanks, any help is much appreciated.

I really wanted to do the survey to support your dissertation and help research into IBS.

But I had to stop half way through. Some peoples' symptoms would have fitted well into the "yes/no" options and other criteria, but unfortunately my own personal ones didn't and as a result I couldn't continue.

There are nuances and "grey areas" with my IBS, and the survey did seem to need "black or white" answers. Never mind. I wish you well with the research.

I feel better when I’m cycling (is that because I’m distracted?), comes back reasonably quick, I was thinking of buying a tiny trampoline to see what the outcome of that would be. Best o f luck

Ive done it. Not wanting to sound critical, but I feel like you only have a small amount of info. You don't know whether I have always done this amount of exercise, whether my IBS has improved or worsened over time.

And more importantly, whether the amount of exercise I do affects the IBS, or does the IBS affect the amount of exercise I can do? It can be totally debilitating and exhausting for some, even making people housebound.

And I'm retired, unemployed would be the wrong answer.

Good luck

Yes, that was also a stumbling block for me as I am retired, not "unemployed".

But there were other stumbling blocks.

Such as...I was diagnosed with IBS D, and my main problem was looser than normal stools, but that can happen not "x" times per week. I might have a week with no issues except some dietary restrictions (such as daren't eat onions etc) I can go for weeks completely normal. I can also have a slight swing over to constipation at times. So it's not cut and dried, and I did get to the point where I was completely stuck on the survey and couldn't follow through any further.

I don't mean to sound negative about the survey or be an old grump, and I do think these surveys can be helpful. But I think it needed a little bit of tweaking here and there.

Hi hope it helps. My week has not been typical. I have HF and have had a pericardial flare so have been on forced rest. I am usually more active and it does affect my IBS the more active I am.
