Severe wind passing and watery poo

Just of late I have massive explosions of wind and watery poo in the morning when I get up. I`m also getting belly ache after eating breakfast and lunch. The pain travels down and sometimes comes out as wind, other times the belly ache remains till I go to bed and sleep and then the explosions when I get up. I have suffered with IBS for years but normally everything settles down after the early morning poo. I`m suffering with thrush at present on my privates. I have got to take a poo sample in the morning. I have also been given a one off tablet to take (Fluconazole) in case I have bacteria that is causing the thrush and might be in my gut as well. I had a Fit poo test in April that was all clear. I have never had wind like this before, it`s very explosive. I have been taking Cosmocol for quite some time while I wait for my inguinal hernia to be fixed so as to keep things moving around the hernia so maybe that is helping to make the poo more watery but I`m frightened to stop taking it incase I can`t get the poo past the hernia. People who don`t suffer like we do don`t really know how bad life can become but luckily my wife is understanding. I`m 79 now. I also have diverticulitus down above that hernia on the left that burns sometimes as the poo and wind passes bye. Oh yeh, I have been very anxious and depressed of late with all the increased costs of everything and the way life has changed so maybe that has caused the problem. Anyway, shall wait and see what the poo test brings up and also if the tablet they gave me helps. Wonder if anyone can relate to my problems. Thanks for reading.

I certainly can feel for you going through this. The hernia and diverticulosis must make things much worse for you. I occasionally have explosive wind accompanied by mucus and it can be quite distressing. I hope the tests and treatment you are receiving bring you some relief.

I too am struggling with abnormal amount of wind. Always after lunch or/and dinner. It has got to the point where I'm too embarrassed to go out and it can be very painful. No matter what I eat. I am a celiac for a good 30 years and have not changed my diet recently. All my Doc can suggest is a wind tablet with simeticone in it over the counter. I do have BAM but can't take the usual meds for it because BAM causes diarrhoea and I have constipation?? My stools are very pale with is likely to be the BAM. I suspect SIBO but my Doc can't test me for that. It has to be a gastroenterologist. I only see them once a year. This year will be my third attempt to persuade them to test me for it. In the meantime I have tried various pro biotic but no difference.

I found Dr Gut from the chemist helpful for gas pains and getting it out. And also medicated charcoal (Braggs brand i think). There is also another medication called Enteroscelgel I bought from chemist but was too scared to take as my symptoms had got a lot better by then (its for diorrhea) but its another clay based medicine which supposedly carries the bad bacteria out of your system. May work.. has some small studies online.
