Have you experienced gnawing sensation in the pit of the stomach? The best way to describe the stomach sensation is like you are hungry but you aren't, a gnawing hunter sensation even after you just ate ?

Please share your experience. Thank you

I remember getting this feeling very frequently when I had gastritis as a teenager. I think maybe you should ask your doctor, and you could get checked for that?

Sometimes, now many many years later (!) I can get hunger feelings occasionally, much sooner than I might ordinarily expect them, if I haven't eaten enough and have been particularly busy and used a lot of energy. It took me a while to recognise them as nothing sinister, just my body asking for more food because I'd already burned up the energy from the food I ate.

(Or I lost track of time.)

But yours sounds like it happens not so long after a meal, so get that checked.

I just don't have any other symptoms of gastritis or GERD

My only symptom is that gnawing/hunger like sensation which isn't really painful just unpleasant

Yes i do get that. Unfortunately its not a good sign as i then eat to try and ease it, and it makes me feel bloated, and full. Sometimes i try a peppermint capsule or tea to try and ease it

Thank you for sharing I'm sorry to hear that

Have you seen a doctor? Did they tell you what's causing your symptoms?

Hi. I am not sure if I have the same thing as you. I have always had an issue with feeling hungry an hour or so after eating. The food does greatly depend on this though. If I try to ignore it then the sensation gets worse and gets to the point where it feels my stomach is eating itself. My sugar levels then plummet which causes shaking limbs and wooziness. The only resolution I have found is make sure my stomach is never empty. If I do get to the bad part then the only way to resole it is to actually eat something.

I have sought medical help over the years but failed. No one has a clue what is wrong with me or what it is. At one point, a GP said it was Hypoglycaemia, but then every other medical professional disagreed with that diagnosis. So I am just left to fend for myself.

Hi - I get this and it was diagnosed as acid reflux. Since taking acid reducing pills the symptoms have largely gone away so it might be worth getting that checked out.

Yes I get that feeling. Mine is gastritis caused by too much acid. Pay your gp a visit. In the meantime take gaviscon after meals and before bed.
