5 weeks on from rifamixin for SIBO and IBS C.

I do think things have settled somewhat, though it has only happened gradually. I realised I needed less and less of the docusate/cosmocol and hardly any now. I try to keep with the low fodmap diet but not totally. Thankfully my pains have reduced (I do wonder if some of that was linked to the laxatives) and the bloating I can get under my ribs is more manageable with gaviscon. Although BM most days, not necessarily feeling they are complete, but I’ve decided to give myself time and relaxation on the loo and then not force things (op for rectal prolapse 8 years ago and that was surgeons message at the time).

In 3 weeks I will be tested to determine if food passes into small intestine too slowly (which I think it does) and consultant can prescribe for that. I will deal with that when I’m faced with it.

I think I am dealing with stress a bit better these days and it helps so much that I can now get back to some gardening! I joined the webinar on bloating and found it most helpful.

I want to thank people for all your info and encouragement and in turn I hope that a positive and optimistic 🤞🤞🤞message from me can help others.
