little blood clots

I only "go" every 4-5 days, usually, and it feels tremendous when I do - I'm like the puppy kicking up her heels. Then, give it about 1/2 hour and the spasms start and I am under a heating pad for pain on my left lower side. I know I have diverticulitis "attacks" but they have been diagnosed as "smoldering diverticulitis" - never too bad. I also developed hemerhoids and now a question of a fissure or something like that, with some bleeding ONLY if I strain - which I try my best not to. Usually the next time I go I will "poop" out a small blood clot - bright red, and very tiny. So - I imagine the BM has irritated something. And maybe it's the bleeding that is causing me pain. I never have ongoing bleeding - only if I strain. Interestingly, in the 4 days when I don't "go" I have no pain, no spasms and no bleeding - it is as if my colon went to sleep. Sigh...
