IBS can be funny

I got used to run out from conversations with my friends for an urgent poo, and I always do my dirty things in a matter of seconds, which is useful. Usually it is even funny for me. I think I can say thanks to my hyperactive guts for me being kinda slim. And I can be a winner of any fart award! 🌝 I'm aaaaaalways hungry AF. I love tasty snacks.

I love your attitude, Ice cream dude. I have to admit, I have had some humorous occasions with my IBS too !

(Running across two big fields, almost chased by Bullocks, to arrive home out of breath, desperately needing the loo. Sat on the loo, and just did one tiny fart.)

You see those tiny little farts that makes you feel like you are going to pass a whole lot of Sh*t, I can relate very well 😁

Sorry but I fail to see anything funny about this. I'm in pain and exhaustion all the time. I have lost all my so called friends even my family and husband say I'm a drama queen and lazy ect ect to add insult to injury. The future scares me. There will come a time when I cannot look after myself and with no one to rely on, I will be old, ill and alone.

Hi Edgar

I know what you mean about friends, it don’t take long before you don’t get invited out or they come to visit because you are not in the happy go lucky mood they want you to be in, my wife is a great support to me tho, I could not have asked for a better caring wife to be fare, my daughter just say use a nappy and go out, she asked how I am, I tell her my ibs is playing up bad then she say ok apart from that how do you feel, she is 34 and I have had ibs the whole of her life so it’s normal to see me unwell, I also developed angina in lockdown maybe brought on by the Covid, then in September 2022 I had a stuck kidney stone in my tube so needed emergency op, while in hospital they gave me a suppository for the pain it was lovely being pain free for a while, then in nov 2022 I had a colonoscopy and the prep seemed to help calm my ibs down for a while but it always pops it’s head up when not expecting it to, just to £#&% you up. Sorry you don’t feel you have any support, how old is your husband and does he have any health issues?

My husband is 58 and in rood health. Probably why he don't get it. His answer to every ill is exercise! The last thing I can do.So that means I'm lazy!! My son is 36 and used to be very supportive but lately I think he has had enough. I am helping him move out to be near his older brother (40) a 2 hour drive away and I can't do it anymore. They are not my husbands boys. He also has 2 younger children from a previous marriage. In there 20s. They seem more understanding than their Dad. I am 5 years older than him. I bet your sorry you asked now. It's complicated.

I really agree with you I'm the same it is not at all funny I have fecal accidents and it is so down grading and debilitating. I have to cancel outings with friends and family ,my husband is very supportive has he has his own health problems . The future scares me too as I also suffer with anxiety and depression .

Most of the time I only get misery or a scary feeling with my IBS, or not knowing what will happen next, or an awful sinking feeling when I wake up in the morning that has marred my life quality.

But on a couple of occasions there have been tiny events that have just made me laugh with how crazy they were, even though I am not happy with my situation and wish it would go the heck away.

But any times there is humour in the situation are definitely few and far between.
