opioid constipation

I am on a15 mg BuTec patch every 7 days for chronic pain but it is causing really bad constipation ,I am at my wits end to know what else I can take other than the Laxido prescribed by the doctor ,I’m frightened to take to much as I am disabled and can’t walk unaided so I don’t want to cause diarrhea and be put in a embarrassing position,I would appreciate any advice that could help me ,I don’t really want to stop the BuTec as it’s the only medication that helps with my chronic neuropathy pain.

I'm sorry your suffering with this issue I was the same after taking morphine chronic constipation can be really painful and you don't want to get impacted, so I would advise to take what the drs suggested maybe start off on a lower dose and work up to the recommended dose. Try and stay near the toilet if you can for a while and see how you go.

Thanks for your answer,I am now going to see the doctor as the pain is so bad even when I have managed to go to the toilet.

if Laxido is not working ask for a different laxative which might work better x

From my experience with drugs for pain, any strong pain pill causes constpation. How bout taking a stool softener when needed?
