So between October 2022 -2023 I was told I was offered the only meds. I haven't tried for BAM. I held out hope for them and was looking forward to possibly dealing with this horrible thing. I waited and waited and phoned up to as the chemist, the doctor, the doctor, the chemist and so on.
Eventually I was told they had been discontinued.
I was given a box of colesevelam at some point which I have already tried and didn't help/was hard to take. So currently that is my only option unless I try and track down the discontinued meds.
That coupled with my litany of other health issues, 2024 is looking to be FUN!
I don't now if any of you watched 'Boiling Point' but it felt healthy to see someone play a role of a character living with IBS.
Whatever you are going through I wish you all some peace of mind and happier times in 2024.
Happy NEW Year !!!!!

I did just check the medical list that shows all medication and it does show that unfortunately it has been discontinued they maybe a replacement for it:
Thank you for the info. YesI think I did try the question scahetand found it hard to take - all I know is that everything Tried I couldn't take or it didn't work -I don't thin there are any options...
Hi, I take Questran Light or Mylan if Questran is not avaliable. I couldn't live without it, and I manage on 1 sachet a day taken before my evening meal. I have IBS and have had my Gallbladder removed, so need meds to help with bile.Hope this is helps, take care, trying to find anwers is not always easy I know.
There are a few Boiling Point's - 1 is a short -definitely features in 1/2 of them. My memory is equally bad -now I'm trying to work it out. (think BBC player and Channel 4 features them online)
I am so there with you. I don't get out much due to "accidents" in the past. My IBS-D usually flares in the am and much of the time when I feel half decent, I am too wiped out to go anywhere.
I don't watch that programme Boiling Point so I can't comment on that but there is a load of other TV things and they cover many topics but yet to watch a programme that tried to cover things like IBS-Diverticular Disease Crohns or any other bowel problems as it seems that as soon as it starts on about bowel habits or problems they just try to shove it under the carpet as if our things don't matter there was a gut health person I don't know if she is a real Doctor or not as with all these people that appear on TV hook you in and pray on people that are really desperate 4 some kind of cure they reel us in and charge the earth for their products I even watched that TV thing last year called Know your S**T even that didn't help as they just touched the surface and was no further forward at all unless I didn't understand!!! well I can but wish you the best for 2024 xxx bungi1961
