Does anyone experience this daily? I don't strain to have a bowel movement and I don't have diarrhea
Does anyone else have this symptom too?
Dry, irritated anal sensation unrelated to bowel movement

Could that be caused by the kind of loo paper you use?
Well before IBS, I found that just using any old dry paper to wipe never felt quite right, and my bum would feel slightly dry afterwards. I started using very small wads of toilet paper and wet them with warm water to do the final wiping and gently dried the area with some more, patting dry.
But since IBS, and extreme wiping during flare ups I decided to use toilet paper with aloe vera. Unfortunately my really favourite one was discontinued. But aloe vera infused moist wipes are still available. Aloe vera is very soothing.
But I still do a lot of wiping with small wads of paper wet with warm water. That makes such a difference.
Yes I do get like that from time 2 time what I do is use plain warm water on a face cloth or flannel pat it dry as at times it can be very tender raw and sore when using toilet roll ( I beg 2 differ as it's supposed 2 be soft!!! ) then apply vaseline as and when give that a go and hope you soon get better take care OK !!!
I don't know if you read my reply but a warm damp flannel/face cloth pat yourself dry and apply vaseline as anything else would be quite painful I do this at least twice a day as I get really sore down there as since I have had my IBS/Diverticular Disease 3/4 years ago I have been wearing paper pants ( TENA ) and they make it sore tender ETC sorry if I have all ready sent you a reply!!! but it's the best I can do OK
the first time I had a colonoscopy I didn't use anything and my bot was soooo sore! I sat in a warm bath for ages! Second time I preempted the problem by using zinc and castor oil ointment-no soreness!! I have also used a dedicated tube of lip salve for the same purpose and that works well too!! Too much water is drying (seems daft I know) but aloe ver, pic and castor or lip salve all good to use. Prevention is better than cure!
