I'm afraid mine's a little lower down
I feel everyone who gets tummy pain with IBS has different pain patterns. I don't actually think the Rome Criteria for a diagnosis of IBS is necessarily 100% correct, where it says that pain should be relieved after a bowel movement. Mine if I get any , usually is, but it's not the same for everyone.
There are different pains with me, though "pain" isn't one of my main symptoms. My main symptom is loose stool (not always actual diarrhea) followed by exhaustion, shakiness etc and even odd heart rhythms.
But if and when I do get actual pain it's usually either: trapped wind which is relieved if I pass wind...or a feeling a bit like a period pain very very low down in my abdomen during or just before a flare up of the "D".
I also get proctalgia fugax pain but that's more rare, and I'm not even sure it's because of IBS.
I weirdly have had my IBS pain in my mid to lower back overnight or abdominal cramping if day time.
Have you tried Mastic Gum for tummy pain?
Thankfully I don’t get symptoms of IBS very often but I have had it recently lasting for around a week, horrible pains plus constipation. So my go to is mastic gum, it works for me. That plus Slippery Elm for my acid reflux, both are natural miracle workers.
I was diagnosed with a hiatus hernia. Nothing to do with IBS. Prescribed lanzaprazole which I take 1 hour before main meal of the day. If I forget I get Awful stomach pain after dinner that can last hours.
I have pain after a bowel movement
My stomach goes into spasm it is like someone has got hold of your guts and wringing them out. And I know that I will be on the loo soon after.
