For anyone able to did you know that it's better if you can chew your food at least 10 times or more before swallowing?

I think it is a well known fact that chewing food helps the digestive system. Some people are slow eaters and will chew food more automatically; others will literally gulp down food - a lot will depend on how hungry the person is! For those of us who suffer with gastritis we are well aware that chewing food and eating slowly is a benefit.
I am really sorry didn't mean to sound patronising about it after all it was just a thought OK
I have not taken it personally! You are right in what you say - just pointing out that some people would be aware if they have acid reflux as well as IBS etc...
As I am fairly new to this forum I am just grateful for any tips or advice I can get as until you have this nasty IBS/Divericular Disease nobody really understands do they? I just hope that they don't after all it is so crippling when you do I hope that today is one of your better days with it? Oh I keep going Docs about it when I can get to see one that is as that is mission impossible at the moment!!! and they keep giving me different tablets ETC and just can't face anymore colonoscopies being poked or prodded about as it is bad enough trying to control my bowels as it is and never Doc seeing the same one twice (being home all the time ) and having to keep on explaining myself to them when I do take care
My father had diverticular disease for many years and he was under the local hospital and had an appointment very few months with the team. This was going back 20 years but he was being looked after. I think he was taking some meds (would not know which ones though) and he did have a few things he could not eat like seeds as it could get stuck in the crevices with diverticular. My father lived to 88 but is not longer around for me to ask...
You should not be fobbed off; and I am sure you should be under a hospital for proper guidance.
