I’m looking for some advice. I have suffered with IBS d for 12 years. I’m finding as I’m hitting my 40s that it is considerably worse while I’m on my period. I usually manage my condition with food and probiotics. I have piles and my GP told me to avoid Imodium.
I’m struggling to manage my symptoms any advice as I feel there is nothing I can do during a flare up.
Thanks

sorry to hear you’re having a rough time at the moment. My Ibs flared up really badly during menopause I do think that the hormone fluctuations definitely affected me. I took Magnesium Ok, evening primrose oil & bought some menopause related vitamins . You said you already control your Ibs with diet & probiotics so that’s good. It’s really trying to be gentle with yourself & riding through the changes as you do already with flare ups. Ask your GP re hrt. I didn’t try hrt as it’s really only on hindsight I’ve noticed & it was Lockdown. I had a period recently & yup flare up. Oatcakes are good for firming things up too. Take care.
