Just wondered whether anyone had any advice on how to cope with ibs whilst pregnant.
I do have a GP appointment next week to go through everything and it’s super super super early days (5weeks) but I just thought I’d reach out here and see if anyone had any advice or first hand experience of this?
My IBS-D started after I gave birth to my son 3 years ago so haven’t had to deal with this yet.
In general I’m going to try to the best of my ability to eat well and continue to avoid trigger foods but as IBS and pregnancy are so different and unpredictable I just wanted to get as much info as possible
Thanks!

Honestly I felt the best I ever have in regards to IBS while I was pregnant. I was able to eat almost anything I wanted...it wasn’t until after delivery that my symptoms would all come back...which is so frustrating. I have joked with the doctor on more than one occasion if I could just be pregnant all the time I wouldn’t have to see her or suffer Lol
Thanks for your reply! I’m glad it eased up while you were pregnant. I’m really hoping this is the case for me.
I just already feel so drained And My last pregnancy wasn’t easy at all and clearly brought on the ibs. I’m just hoping it doesn’t make it worse or cause any issues.
