IBS AND REFLYX

I have suffered from both IBS and reflux (from hiatus hernia) for 20 plus years now. This means that I have to consider foods which affect both conditions.

I have recently had almost monthly ibs flare ups so started a FODMAP diet 2 months ago which made a tremendous difference to my IBS. Unfortunately as I relaxed away from FODMAP to try to ease back to a normal diet I have had a couple of major flare ups which also seem to happen when I reach a certain weight or this might be just coincidence)

When I have a flare up I can lose up to 7lbs in about 3 days but then put the weight back on.

The only meds I take are omaprozole forcreflux and peppermint tablets for ibs.

Any advice woukd be greatly appreciated.

I can only say what works for me (sometimes) recent research has shown that peppermint is NOT good for IBS or reflux as it will repeat. This does not appear to have reached the doctors so far. I take lansoprazole before main meal.
