Narrowing and swelling blood vessels

Hi, I just wonder if anyone has or had an issue with the blood vessel that links the stomach and the bowel. Over the years iv been diagnosed with IBS constipation. However having had ultrasound on my stomach they noticed the swelling and narrowing on the blood vessel and that could be the cause of my constipation. They also said it was not uncommon for patients to have these issues and was told surgery would be complicated and to just carry on as normal as possible. A place called limbo comes to mind where I'm at. Anyone else have these issues?

Hi Grish

How interesting, I’ve had ibs for 30 yrs, had every investigation going. 3 years ago I had an ultrasound and was told I had liver varies, something similar to what you describe. Referred to specialist who dismissed this diagnosis. I have boughts of pain that last months. I’m having another ultrasound. I am convinced that ibs causes inflammation of all surrounding organs but specialists again dismiss this as they say it’s not inflammatory. I can feel my bowel all the time, sometimes feels like a brick get sharp stabbing pains when I move but also suffer with fibromyalgia. I’m also a stress head and think it’s all linked. Then I have periods where I’m not in pain, it’s just weird. When I describe my pain gps seem perplexed. I’m not having any more invasive procedures because I’m sure that aggravates our condition.

Currently in painful limbo that has gone on for months. I have piles that rage away to the point I imagine the worst and a phlebolith. This makes me think that I have a vascular problem that is under-pinning the bowel pain alongside ulcerated diverticulitis and intuscusseption which telescopes the gut and a rectocele. Ultra sound and xray dont show anything major but it has taken 20 years for NHS to stop thinking it is my bladder. I am being sent for physio and waiting to pass verdict on this. The pain has been unbearable and I have positive 'FIT'test for blood in poo. 3 visits to emergency department and told I was having a period! I am post menopause. Having just had breast cancer I am totally aware that this could be more risky symptoms. I do think vascular problems occur
