Look for a post by Stuart24, "How I oovercame IBS-D. Seems everyone's IBS experience is so different, but Stuart's post resonated most with me. I wasn't as strict and dedicated myself, but my symptoms were improving so much (because I took away my stressor, my job) that I was very happy anyway. Being on a run of 3 bad days now, I wish I'd been stricter!

I take Hey Nutrition Probiotic Complex, and nature's best high potency digestizyme.

So difficult to know if these are giving the (normally) good results, but I reckon they are.

Best wishes

thank you for your advice, it is so tricky to know what’s right as we are all so individual, work is a major stressor for me too but I need the job so it’s trying to manage my stress and diet to cope 😊

If you are a member of The IBS Network, log in and have a look at the in depth factsheet on the website ProbioticPrebiotic-factsheet-web(1).pdf (theibsnetwork.org) and also on the self-care programme where there is a whole section Probiotics and Prebiotics | The IBS Network with a wealth of information.

You would also need to make sure that the products you choose work for your symptoms, IBS is different in everyone so if you have Diarrhoea as a symptom, it wouldn’t be beneficial taking a probiotic or medication for something that treats Constipation. Products may say beneficial for people with IBS, but they need to match the symptoms you suffer with. Some probiotics may help to reduce symptoms of IBS in some people some of the time. They also need to have clinical evidence to say that have helped people living with IBS, there are many of the market that have no clinical evidence at all.

As with all products for IBS, this may not be the answer for you, as what works for one person may not always work for another.

Alflorex is the best probiotic that I have ever tried. It has been scientifically studied for IBS.

I have not tried Alforex yet, but the specialist at the hospital told me it has proven results.

Hey IBellyS! There are some strains of probiotics that have been studied for their potential benefits in managing IBS symptoms including diarrhea. I buy my probiotics here casadesante.com/collections...

Super50 Probiotic by Healthspan. Little bit pricey. But one of the best Probiotics I’ve ever tried. Reduced my flare ups significantly.
