For IBS sufferers there’s no hanging around. When you need a toilet it’s a desperate thing.
Public toilets are a rare thing. Going on a prolonged journey is very stressful.

I agree wholeheartedly but in the UK we've got the problem that people keep voting for lower taxes and then get surprised when public serviced dissappear! If you want more public toilets then stop voting for "low taxation" politicians.
This is a big problem. I know where every public toilet is in each grocery store and each store is. I visit them a lot for prevention. I don't think there are any public toilets in my city.
Totally agree! When I was young (I am now 68) there were a lot more public toilets in parks and in the cities sadly most of these no longer exist. Travelling therefore needs planning before leaving home.
I was in the supermarket last week needed the toilet when I got there they were all taped off and closed, needless to say the outcome wasn’t good.
Impossible really if we are honest about it.
You have to plan with stealth where you can stop and find facilities.
Big supermarkets are an obvious option.
Also keep stuff in the car to get cleaned up for when that strategy fails.
My days of leaping 5 bar gates into fields are over.
I remember one farm field gate that collapsed on me. Stupidly I did the same on the return. Apologies to the farmer if you are reading. I did prop the gate back up . . .
Best wishes,
Ernest
There is an App for mobiles - Toilet Finder which might be worth having. Also I carry a 'Just can't Wait' card from the Bladder and Bowel Community, which you can obtain from them. bladderandbowel.org
