Do i have ibs ?: for 4 months i have had lower... - IBS Network
Do i have ibs ?

do you think it could just be constipation?
Sounds similar to what I went through and doctor told me it was IBS.
Good luck with your colonoscopy. I hope you start to feel better soon
im regular ,
you can be regular and still be constipated, means you dont completely empty when you go to the loo, but you can still go.

how is that possible ? I eat plenty of fruits and vegetables , drink plenty of water ,have a big poo 😉and im still the same ,
I dont know the scientific reason but it can happen, i eat healthy and it happens to me sometimes.
If you do have ibs it is a regular thing.
lol
the pains are different from constipation pains aswell 😩i would love if it was that simple
Pains in the gut are common with IBS. It doesn't have to be constipation. IBS-d people get pain too. I get it which comes and goes. Sometimes trapped wind which is like sharp little gripes here and there, and sometimes just a heavy feeling low down which isn't what I call 'pain', I would call it more discomfort but it doesn't feel so great. Like there is a load of wind that I wish would come out but it doesn't. I get that about 4hrs after dinner and it starts to ease up about an hour or so later.
So having pain of one kind or another is almost a given with any kind of IBS. But it's impossible to say it is IBS because lots of other conditions also cause pain.
I was first diagnosed with IBS in my thirties (in my 60s now). My GP sent my for a colonoscopy when I was having more diarrhoea than usual. I was worried sick, but they did give me an all clear for any form of cancer, and that did set my mind at rest.
Since being given Metformin to treat Diabetes T2, my guts have been in agony, and my prescription was changed for something less disturbing to my system.
I think everyone’s IBS is different - I think your GP is being rightly cautious sending you for the colonoscopy, medicine works on facts and evidence, s/he can’t take a guess at what’s going on!
PS, the procedure wasn’t nearly as awful as I feared it would be. They offered me a sedative, and the time sped past!
