IBS and histamine intolerance or DAO insufficiency

Does anyone have experience of coping with IBS and some form of histamine intolerance at the same time? I just seem to have insufficient DAO (can eat spinach but not a lot of other things on the list), but it's hard to know sometimes what is causing bloating, cramps, etc. Thanks

Hi I have hives most days and the usual ibs symptoms. I've read up about histamine intolerance and wonder if they're connected. Through the summer my hives are less. I doubt this is helpful I thought I'd share my experience. I hope you get a resolution.

I went through a short time of wondering if I had histamine intolerance because I had an upset gut a few times after eating certain foods. That happened in 2021. It seemed to highlight histamine as a possible culprit. I keep a food diary and was beginning to see a pattern.

Although I never ever get any other allergy symptoms, and never did all my life.

Then guess what? Later I tried those foods again and was perfectly fine, continually, and can eat them now with no problem.

So I have no idea what happened to me there. But I don't seem to be troubled by histamine foods any more. Probably a coincidence, and my flares were the typical random IBS flares instead of being able to pin them on anything I could control!
