Are you C or D? Anything else you can tell us about what you're doing for it, what doctors you've seen, what tests have been run, what you're currently taking, diet, etc.?
I use a hot water bottle on my abdomen. It really helps.
I take meclizine for night time cramps. It is over the counter. It comes in 12.5 mg. tablets, but you probably need 25 mg. so try two to begin with. Stops the cramps with few side effects.
That's horrible, waking up with cramps, too early and only relieved by going to the loo at 6am. Do you get exhausted from broken sleep?
Is it related do you think to what you eat in the evening or eating at a certain time in the evening? Maybe if you can trace the culprit (food wise) you can avoid that later in the day? But I know it's not always related to what we eat.
I wonder if a warm bath before sleep might help, to relax you and relax muscles. Or doing tummy massages before bed.
I hate those night time flare ups. I get them occasionally, but mine usually start just before I go to bed, which always means a horrible sleep if any at all. For me, that is the worst part of ibs and unpredictable. Things are so much harder to cope with in the early hours too.
