I had symptoms of dizziness, vertigo like and off balance. Also has trembling feeling, and brain fog..
I have bee taking B12 daily and not seen a difference. These attacks are strange can come on at any time, can just be sitting watching TV and all of a sudden I feel my head is heavy, feeling dizzy, and drained.
Which brings me to my point I have been given Propranolol for my symptoms and it has been great, well the last 2 days anyway for my IBS. I have no feeling in my gut, and had a curry last night and have been out shopping...
Might just be a fluke for today but fingers crossed. I will stay on this medication for the next 4 weeks. I am hoping my dizzy spells are anxiety related and these tablets keep helping my IBS

I do get dizzy spells too but was told most likely to be high BP or my virtego 🙄never rains but it pours !!, fingers crossed your meds will keep working for you , keep us posted xx
I was given propranolol years ago when my high blood pressure started but they made me very spaced out so I went back and said I didn't want to continue with them and they changed them to atenolol. I have been on atenolol now for about 20 years, both propranolol and atenolol are betablockers, and they can have a calming affect which could possibly help with IBS. Propranolol is able to cross the blood brain barrier and is found in brain tissue in higher amounts than atenolol, so perhaps that is why!
Yes it could be the effect of being more relaxed. Yes I think it is that. I do create more stress than I need to for myself it's never intended. It is just nice getting a rest bite.
As cocodamol helped with my IBS and ultimately made me more chilled, the beta blocker seemed to have done the same. Today my IBS is still apparent, however I did miss a beta blocker yesterday, as I have been given the ones that you can take whenever up to 3 times a day. Perhaps that means at least one? Which is all I have been taking.
Yes I was put on these a few years ago due to migraines. Those pesky migraines I had them for 1 month did, ended up with a brain scan, who would of thought I do have a brain. Thankfully the scan did not show anything to worry about.
I also think you are correct, it wont solve my IBS, but it might assist in dealing with it. Anxiety is definitely there for me and I know I make things worse. I can overreact with finding a toilet then when I do I do not always need to go. My brain seems to create the need to go, even after taking loperamide and unable to go.
Any relief is good. We will so...
Not sure the anxiety is the cause of my dizziness, vertigo, then feeling drained though. It's a weird thing to have. Can be sitting watching TV and the I am attacked. Time will tell.
My dizzyness comes from foods, all bloody foods. Dairy, sugar, wheat especially. Can't eat pasta, fruits nothing without brain fog and dizziness.. IT. SUCKS. I have to eat cooked chicken and brown rice. Thank god I can make a sauce that doesn't seem to effect me, from celery, peppers and courgettes.
I’ve just been prescribed propranolol for anxiety and ibs.. I took one 20mg last night and woke up with a bad stomach and have been bad all day. Has anyone found it made their ibs D worse?
