This isn't a UTI as far as I can tell. I don't actually have UTI symptoms. But I have needed to pee SO many times today. I went six times this evening and need to go again now, passing loads of water each time. No bad smell to the pee or any other bladder red flags. Just water!
I have been drinking my usual amount, no more today.
I keep wondering if maybe it's a good sign, and the water is coming out via kidneys rather than sticking around in the gut?
Does anyone else get a super active bladder sometimes with IBS.? I wonder what the connection is?
I'm not diabetic either. And I have ibs -d predominantly.

I have a very active bladder too and a lot of other all over the body symptoms including functional bowel problems. That's why I asked a referral to a neurologist. She thinks I could have dysautonomia. It could be the cause of my IBS, constipation predominant with overflow diarrhea, as a result of motility problems / slow transit.
Hello Meleber,I have similar problems. I have asked for a referral but no one has ever suggested dysautonomia. I think I may have this too! I have very slow transit and suffer with constant constipation and overflow issues. Sometimes I physically can't eat because the food seems to sit 8n my stomach and not move. If I bend over it comes back up. I also suffer with acid reflux every day. I am desperate to talk to a gastro - specialist to find out if this can be treated.
It's not easy for us to get a proper diagnosis, I mean that we need to try to find what actually is causing the symptoms, the root of the disease/syndrome /disorder. We as patients have to be very persistent because the medical professionals aren't aware off all the possible underlying medical causes. They are just humans too and can't / don't know everything. Maybe it's up to us to teach/inform them 🙂
I agree we need to be persistent. The temptation is for doctors to prescribe either for constipation or diarrhea and not find the underlying cause. I know there is no miracle cure but I would like to have someone look to see if there is anything physically wrong with my digestive tract. Why has the acid reflux got so much worse in the last 6 months. I suspect hormone levels have a lot to do with it. I am 61yrs old. I still get hot episodes through the night especially but not as bad as they have been over the last 7 years. I have asked about HRT but I just get fobbed off.
Sounds like painful bladder syndrome or interstitial cystitis. I have this and causes pain and frequent passing urine. No infection. I was diagnosed by hospital , seems to go along side IBS. which I also have with constipation. I take paracetamol when it’s bad . Your Gp can advise. No cure but it comes and goes.
No, with me there was no pain at all or any discomfort. just lots of pee! Today I thought it might mean my #2s wouldn't be as soft, but nope. Still too much water in there.
Hi Lisa,I have IBS C predominantly and very slow transit through whole of digestive tract. I get up several times during the night. I have an urge to pee but it is usually triggered by a need to open my bowels. I think it is pressure that triggers it. Just my thoughts no one has confirmed this is the reason. The colon removes water from the solid matter so perhaps this could affect how many times you need to go. The water will be processed by your kidneys. ???
I have a very overactive bladder , I have found talking some silicolgel helps calms things down. I take some once a week these days, I have found the worse the ibs is the more irritated the bladder can be, need to focus on calming down inflammation/irritation.
I have had this for years, nothing else going on in my case
I always seem to feel like I want a wee, but I am too scared to go to the loo in case I end up having a bowel movement, this has happened on a few occasions. I just try to ignore if I can and funnily enough, if I have a drink, it makes me feel less like I need a wee! I have always said that I was wired the wrong way round! 🙃
