Hi, what medications have you been given? Some take a while to settle in or they might be the wrong ones for you.
You could also try keeping a food/symptoms diary for a bit and see if you can spot any link between what you are eating and drinking and your symptoms. It might, if you are lucky, be a single food or drink that's triggering your symptoms.
You should also be asking to see a gastroenterologist and a dietician. Generally, you'll find that you'll be offered medication first and if that doesn't work they'll offer you a Low FODMAP diet sheet. The fodmap has changed my life but it is not as simple as GPs think it is and you will really need a dietician to take you through it. It can also be harmful if not done correctly. My advice is keep pushing for those appointments.
Im sorry you're having such a horrible time. Keep us posted on your progress.
IBS is a horrible disease. There's no cure (dispite what some might tell you) & its a matter of learning to manage your symptoms as best you can. I have 2 friends with IBS and we all manage our symptoms differently.
Best of luck with your appointment, I really hope you find a way forward
I have found Buscopan to really help with wind pain; you can take it for 2 weeks if you take them daily, or if you take them more sporadically then it is fine to take them for longer. Hope you feel better soon...
I feel for you with your symptoms. IBS is very complex and has no cure unfortunately. You'll need to try and research what you can about your diet, exercise, sleep and work life balance. No one seems to know why we get any symptoms or combination of symptoms. No one knows how it can be possible to have 2 or mire types of IBS either. It's a case of trying different things and excluding what doesn't work for you or what gives unwanted side effects. Please push for help and diagnosis. Ask what your entitled to as it affects your life and work, especially when you have the flare ups. I wish you well and hope you update us whilst on this journey. All the best 😍
I have similar problems and have been advised that they are primarily due to pelvic floor dysfunction Google exercises to relieve the pain and reduce the tension in your abdomen and pelvis
