Spot on 🙂 that's a great article.
Hi Maureen. I could have written that myself. IBS doesn't play by any rules. But we shouldn't give up trying to find relief by trying new medications, diets, etc otherwise we might just as well curl up & die.
Aww my goodness, so true. Thank you for sharing 😊
Hi Maureen,
Just read the article - thanks for sharing! It is very true and why so many of us can never be sure that what we eat is even contributing to a flare. x
Thanks! The article was good, but I'm just so excited to see this site.
Have you heard of Stuff that Works, that's quite a good site too. They are an algorithm site. So you can still have conversations like we do on here, and privately like we do on here as well but there is another bit where you ask direct questions and they get algorithms from it. If that makes sense to you. So you kind of think are helping to find an answer maybe! Link below.
In order to join you have to fill in a questionnaire about your condition. Have a look and see what you think. I'm on there as well. I am always Maureen1958, that way I don't forget my handle and other people can recognise me if they are from other sites like this.
Very true I sometimes feel half my problem comes from trying to understand IBS and stopping thinking it must be something worse I drive myself round the bend Thanks again for sharing
I've always thought the final answer will have something to with the microbiota in our gut. Science & medicine are quite there yet.
I don't think my IBS has anything to do with my gut microbiota, I think there are numerous causes for it and that could perhaps be gut microbiota for some people but I am pretty damn sure that is not the case for me.
It is undoubtedly multifactorial. I'm placing my bet on gut microbiota though (esp. relative to relief of symptoms). Right now, it's very understudied. The mental models of practitioners are simply not giving it the attention it deserves. Just think of all the incredible things that it's done for c. diff.
