Symprove probiotic effective
Hi,
Would you mind sharing what were your main symptoms before 'Symprove' and how long before you saw improvement?
Did you try any other brands of probiotics before Symprove?
Main symptoms were cramping pains in gut plus episodes of uncomfortably loose bowels alternating with constipation. Only pain free if very light diet without much fruit or veg. Lived on steamed fish and potato and rice and juiced veg and fruit. improvement about 4 weeks into symprove12 week course and it was maintained for some months. Then found I had to repeat course but followed with a lower maintenance dose. I now eat fruit daily with muesli and full range of veg. Still Have to be careful not to over indulge and avoid bread and cow's milk. I also found celevac helpful but it is withdrawn and I am managing without. Hope this helps.
Thank you, does help. Was planning to get Symprove however it is pretty expensive so just wanted to be sure.
Waste of money. I spent 200pounds on this made me worse, also my aunt tried it again did not improve. Spoke to my doctor who also said stay away from it.
Can't say it helped me. Glad you found something that works though x
I am taking Symprove it did make me worse at first but after 4 weeks I noticed that my IBSD was not as frequent and did not last all day. 2 years later I still take a small amount everyday. I still have a flare up 1 or 2 days a week but they do not last all day. This is not a cure for IBS as we know there isn't one. Everyone is different and what helps one may not help another.
My gastroenterologist recommended it to me as he has IBS and used it. Initially it was great and my symptoms improved hugely but after about two years I was back to my former IBS symptoms so I’ve stopped it now. Not sure whether to go back to it as it is pretty expensive. Has anyone else experienced this?
