Hi - my gastro chap said don’t bother with that and go for one that is much better: VSL3. I didn’t notice any improvement in my guts but you might. You’ll see the comparison of this to others in the brand info. Good luck x

I did it for 12 weeks starting in January this year. I think it actually really helped but I also think you have to implement it with a good diet and watch your stress. It’s definitely not a cure for ibs but mine was in such a bad place after Christmas I think it gave my gut a good reset. I got it with W 30% off code, definitely wouldn’t have paid full price. Have a look at some influencers on Instagram they’ve always got a code somewhere!

Thank you , I’m doing the Low FODMAP diet , which is helping & I eat healthily, but I just wanted to try something that would help settle my grumbling stomach & to try & avoid flare ups . Stress is always a bit of a problem 🙄

Thanks for your advice

I would suggest you look at alflorex first as ut has stronger ibs research and is less expensive. There is a 12 week programme available on the PrecisionBiotics website

Thank you , I’ll have a look at that

I haven't tried Symprove, but the probiotic that has helped me the most is Alflorex and it is cheaper. I think they have a deal on for their 3 month trial programme too.

Hey I tried it!! I have IbS C too! I found it really good the first couple of weeks I felt like it calmed my tummy down a good bit but as the weeks went on I felt like it was actually causing symptoms then.So I stopped it. I read that with probiotics there’s only specific ones each of us needs and you might be putting in extra bacteria that aren’t needed in your gut. So I stopped. One item that I did find brilliant and I need to order more actually was a powder called perfect pass prebiotic. I was going every day no bother! It was expensive also like symprove

Thank you that’s good to know , can I ask where you got your prebiotic from & is that the name Perfect pass prebiotic please ?

I tried it for IBS C, but I didn't see any improvement. That doesn't mean that you won't though.

Agree with a couple of other posts - I tried Alflorex instead too. I usually have Biokult probiotics that didn't make very much difference to my IBS. Tried Alflorex for one month not expecting much, kept to mainly Fodmap foods (I had been testing keeping a food diary) and things have changed for me drastically. After 10 years of IBS misery I have had virtually no symptoms for 3 months. I take the Biokult still as an insurance, but I am really surprised how effective the Alflorex was. If you have not had Alflorex give it a try, I was put off by the price for a long time, wish I had done it earlier.

Thank you that’s good news .

I’m also doing doing the FODMAP diet & take Optibac with fibre , which helps but I’ve been taking it for a couple of years now & wanted to give another probiotic a try . Alflorex seems to be one that a few people have recommended

Thank you so much for all your replies , Alflorex seems to be the most popular one & it’s more affordable than Symprove .

It’s a big help to get all your thoughts , it’s always a bit of a gamble trying new products for Ibs , it’s so unpredictable.
