About experience of Metronidazole?

Has anyone experienced the side effects of Metronidazole? I Have been so ill whilst taking it, after a Hysteroscopy introduced an infection. It hasn't worked and I can't take another course, the side effects are just too much.

I did have to take it once about a year and a half ago, along with another antibiotic for Diverticulitis. Being on the two together I never really knew which one or just the combo of them caused some side effects. I remember a metallic taste in my mouth and general stomach upset. I would ask if there is a different one you could take should you need another round of antibiotics.

Metronidazole is a well known nightmare! You poor thing. Ask for an alternative - metallic taste and exhaustion and feeling light headed are side effects I will never forget! And the nausea.....

They are horrendous antibiotics they made me really sick when I had them.

Just had to take it for a dental abscess. Stomach cramps for 3 days now. Awful stuff.
