Pains and movement

Hi all, quick question: I was diagnosed with IBS two years ago, after having *lots* of tests. I have occasional flare ups, and I am going through one at the moment. The thing is — since the first bout where I had all kinds of symptoms all I really get now are stabbing pains. Is that normal? They often seem to be triggered by stress, but also by certain movements and pressure.

I don't think there is a normal, but I would be happy if that's all I had! 😊

Thanks -- I have had IBS much, much worse, so I know what you mean! Quite glad it seems to have settled into a more livable pattern.

Same here. I have normal bowel movements for most part. No urgency. I go to loo every day. Three times a day average. All ok by me. But the worst thing is the abdominal aches. That’s the only symptom I have

Thanks! Yes I am pretty regular too -- once every day/two days generally. My pains are more like stabbing/twisting all over my abdomen. I think I may have strained a muscle lifting my toddler all the time too! My IBS is most definitely triggered by stress and anxiety -- need to find new ways of relaxing.
