In last few days , I have suffered a flare up , perhaps due to a course of antibiotics or this very hot spell of weather. I have woken up in the morning feeling sickly , nauseous and feeling that the dreaded dose of D not far away.
This made me feel it such a struggle to get out of bed and get on with the day . Basically would just have liked to go back to sleep . Possibly the nauseous unsettled niggling tummy feeling being the worst factor in this situation and probably would prevent going back to sleep .
This just made me wonder , just out of interest how many fellow IBS sufferers feel similar and have a sort of mental struggle to get going in the morning .

For me when taking antibiotics so I take probiotics afterwards. Yes, some people are affected by the heat, for me I eat smaller portions or just a snack easier on the gut. I never wanted to give into going back to sleep as hubby and I needed the wages to keep a roof over our heads BUT I know it's not easy🤞so wish you well during this hot spell🌹
I expect it's the combined hot weather and antibiotics. Personally I get worse with both of them so the two together would be enough to push me over the top!
Thanks for taking time to reply. I was less concerned about the reason for the flare up. More interested in how many find getting up and on with the day, when they feel so rotten first thing in the morning. I just find waking up and feeling sickly so difficult to cope with. As retired I don't have to get up for work anymore but still , I find it hard to get up and on with my day.
Oh I see, no I'm a morning person so have always been up with the lark. Also, I used to be in the loo for so long everyday that I felt I had to make as early a start as possible. But hey, we are all different. Do what's best for you. Especially as you are retired!
Thanks for reply . My question is Why? I have had IBS for about 50 years . Is there some reason why you feel I should speak to my doctor . These are not particularly new feelings. I was mainly interested in how many with IBS felt getting up and on with their day difficult, when they had a flare up
Hi,Thank you for replying and apologising, as I said , by giving no reason , I thought maybe you were a doctor and had noticed something that was a worry .
I was just interested to know if others found it difficult to get up and on with the day when a flare up was in progress , which of course does not make you feel very well.
Anyway the situation is resolved and I hope that if you make similar comments on the future maybe you will supply a reason and not leave someone wondering if there is an issue to worry about.
Hi,Still interested in your reply about seeing a doctor ! You have not as yet commented further to my reply . I wondered if you were a medically qualified person , maybe a doctor and had some reason to suggest that I see my doctor . Your reply worried me a little .
Hib1b1b1I note that you have not replied to explain your comment about seeing my doctor . I have said you worried me and I have asked if you were a medically trained person and therefore had a reason for what you stated.
I had hoped for the courtesy of a reply , as mostly people on this sight are there with a worry or are helpful .
You commented as if you knew something that I didn't , presumably you had a reason for this , yet you are not now replying to explain your reason.
This is disappointing, however, maybe you just made the comment and really have no knowledge of a medical reason about why I might want to see my doctor.
I think you must be the first person I have come across in this IBS forum to make a remark like you did and give no reason . This just causes unnecessary worry . Basically you just leave the situation hanging !!
I hope others are viewing this and taking note as I did not find it helpful . People with IBS mostly worry !!
Hi I can relate to how you feeling in the morning My ibs is so severe nausea pain gurgling constantly until late afternoon and I think mine is caused by trauma and anxiety.
Hi ,That is not so good but maybe anxiety explains your situation . I , of course don't know the reasons causing your anxiety and can only hope things improve for you.
If I have anxiety or stress , it can only be due to the IBS condition itself.
I used to get lots of stress from work but that was years ago . Now I never know what causes my IBS flare ups . It was much more understandable when I worked and had deadlines to meet etc.
