IBS diagnosis- help me please :)

Hey guys I need help because I think I might have IBS, just wondering if anyone can help me. For about a week and a half now I have had mucus with almost every bowl movement, and I feel the need to go number 2 more urgently when I get stressed. This mucus started when I had an unrelated issue with my ribs and I was extremely worried since I am a bit of a hypochondriac. A few days after intense worrying, the mucus in my stool started. This happened about a year ago as well when I was under extreme stress. the mucus happens when I am stressed more, and is yellow/white and stringy and sometimes is at the top of the toilet bowl. I also have acid reflux which I know can be related to IBS. I have had a bit of stomach spasms, gas and increased gastrointestinal symptoms when I have anxiety. I usually have no IBS symptoms throughout the year, but stress seems to bring gastrointestinal symptoms for me- could this be an IBS flare up due to stress? No bleeding, bladder problems or oddly smelling stool, my stool is also a healthy color and can sometimes be lose with the mucus but I have had no diarrhea. my stomach has also been rumbling loud as well

Most probably stress related but speak to your GP and start recording yr diet.

It sounds like you do but any changes in bowel habit you really should speak to hour GP 1st. Try listening to some hypnosis podcasts for IBS and drink mint tea. You could also try enteric coated peppermint capsules.

Would be best to discuss any symptoms that aren't usual for you with your GP. They may want to run blood and stool sample tests - that's the way to know for sure that it's IBS:
