Morning everyone,I wonder if anyone can help me. I have IBS and diverticular and have now been reffered to a rheumatologist,so taking ibuprofen to control my swelling but obviously it upsets my tummy, lansoprazole makes me worse. I have just seen something about using antacids to help protect tummy. Does anyone else have the same problem or have tried this approach? Thanks for listening

I know that people take lansoprazole in conjunction with daily aspirin (prescribed for protection against stroke) and the lansoprazole is used to protect the stomach in this instance, but I don't know about ibuprofen. I know a lot of doctors aren't happy with ibuprofen for various reasons. Probably best to talk all this through with a doctor.

My advice is that NSAIDS cause these problems, Drs tend to just look after there area, but a single ibuprofen can set the wheels in motion, I have been on PPIs for months and i think they just add to the problem
