Apple cider vinegar

Hi, I have had IBS-C for 17 years. I've had all the tests to rule out anything else. I've tried every diet going, Low Fodmap, free from just about everything, Specific SCD diet, Keto. I've kept food diary's. I've tried most of the supplements going but to no avail. All of the recommended probiotics and probiotics have just made me worse. Symprove along with the popular other ones but to no avail. Just recently I started taking 15mg Lansoprazole and my symptoms disappeared for about 4 months, then they came back. I've also had a period when I took Apple cider vinegar in the mornings, just a teaspoon and all of my symptoms went for about a week.

Currently, I'm working on a plan around finding the right dose of ACV to take. I seem to be VERY sensitive to it and if i take too much I get a bad reaction. I'm currently keeping a diary and some days are better than others. I know how much ACV is too much but I can't seem to work out the right dose. The ACV definitely does something for me. I have left it for about 4 days without taking any ACV and my symptoms tend to improve, then when I get cramps I will take literally a dot of ACV. It helps but does not completely get rid of my symptoms. I'm planning on leaving it a bit longer before taking more ACV as I do believe thus might be the answer.

Does anybody know the physiological effect that the ACV is having on my system? I think that something in my body is out of balance but I don't understand exactly where. I know ACV and Lansoprazole have got something to do with acid production but I can't understand exactly what is going on.

Thanks in advance.

Hi I’m a fellow sufferer and take Alforex as a probiotic , not sure what ACV is doing although I have heard it’s good for the digestive system. Interesting that IBS sufferers on low Fod map diets are steered away from apples!

We need pioneers such as yourself! Good luck.

Hi, I tried some ACV tablets a while ago. I was going through a stage of trialing supplements. I used to have IBS(D) years ago but it is less running now, I guess it is probably IBS(Mixed) now. But I took one dose of the ACV tablets and was back to what I used to be, more runny and all my insides were stinging like hell. I guess they could be quite good for constipation maybe, as long as you don't end up with runny stools that sting like mine did.
