Vomiting with ibs

Why do I vomit every time my ibs flares up, I have to go the toilet both ways, I hate having ibs, the pain is horrific.

Hi, thought I’d respond as it has been a day since your post. I’m so sorry you’re getting pain; I know how awful it can be, but I’m not sure vomiting on a regular basis is a symptom of IBS. It sounds to me (I’m no doctor or expert by the way) that you might have other health conditions - do ask your doctor if you might have cyclic vomiting disorder (CVS) as I believe that sufferers can be sick without any other signs of illness. You didn’t say if your episodes of vomiting occur post eating (diet?) or if it’s constant . Also, do you suffer anxiety? That could be triggering the vomiting. Don’t suffer in silence. Please go back to the docs and get this sorted.

Hi thank you so much for your information, I do suffer from Depression + Anxiety which does cause losts of stress + upset, plus I have a hernia just above my belly button, I am on medication for this, but maybe I need to see my GP again, the vomiting isn't all the time, only when I have my IBS, flare up, thank you again, kind regards Angela.

Just an alarm bell ringing; is the pain at, or close to your hernia? If your hernia is ‘strangulating’ this might trigger the symptoms you mention in your post. Not necessarily the IBS. You are passing stools and wind? I really think you need to get an appointment sorted.
