Has anyone experienced the feeling of a swollen throat and some pain lower down in throat and a sort of light clicking when swallowing? Doctor thinks it might be silent reflux or generally feeling run down/anxiety. Brand new symptom just as I was feeling a bit better.

Just had gastroscope and it’s barratts oesphagus. Reflux has caused it. I also choke on foods like steak, oranges, grapes. Only treatment I was given wasEmprazole to reduce acid.
I got esomeprazole 40 mg morning and night it helps. Depends what I eat. Alginate raft oral suspension I take at night if my stomach is burning. Never goes away sugary things cause the burning and then choking so avoid them.
I get night time reflux which I think is same as silent reflux. It is worse when anxious or stressed and if I drink alcohol. I know I have had it simply as I will wake with a sore throat. I use silicolgel before I go to bed during periods where I feel anxious or if I've had a drink. I do this as I am told that the acid that leaks up can cause damage if long-term and lead to barratts disease of the oesophagus. I don't get any clicking sounds lower down the throat. I also get stress induced IBS. Stress and anxiety is the demon for so many illnesses and so trying to reduce these pressures is really important. I hope you feel better soon.
