Hi all so ct scan came back normal she is saying because I didn't want the camera down my throat then il be discharge I need go on diet on certin foods now I'm confused what to do

They offers me camera down my throat I said no

Yes, a camera down your throat, but if they aren't offering you to be put under anesthesia, i can see why you declined, i just had it done a few months back however i was put under.

It's fine without being put to sleep I have endoscopy and colonoscopy with being put to sleep its isn't that bad

Ella1992 that was my concern, the thought of a camera down my throat scared me. But I am so pleased I had it done as all tests are complete and my mind is at ease. The Gastro took me through it stage by stage. He sprayed my throat with a banana flavoured local anesthetic, he then said he was introducing some Fentanyl into a cannela in my arm. Don't remember anything else it was over...

Back in 2011 hospital tried to get me to have camera down throat. That's a no go for, having a phobia of choking on a foreign object, so you not alone. I have np problem (apart from prep) from having a colonoscopy or baraian meal xray.

I had a camera down my throat once without being sedated and it was such an horrendous experience, I vowed never to repeat it.

It really was, I agree. The MOST horrendous experience of my life, and the throat spray is choking.

Most hospitals are reluctant to put patients under full sedation for endoscopies as there can risks with anaesthesia. If you explain that you are nervous and anxious, you can have mild sedation and they should explain the procedure fully before it's done. When I had mine they gave me a mild sedative, sprayed my throat to numb it and it was fine, didn't feel anything at all.
