Ibs or not

The problem with trying to describe the normal with IBS is there is no normal. IBS is best described as a set of symptoms that, after extensive investigations, do not belong to any other disease or condition, and there are no further tests possible or useful, not are all the symptoms controlled or controllable.
Yes, I get the same and mucus as well. IBS is a set of complicated symptoms. I've had it for 30 years, I've learnt to live with it. When I was working it was a nightmare! I'm thankfully retired, so don't go out if having a bad day. Take medication, especially imodium if going out.
Hi there,
The short answer is, I think, yes.
The longer answer is that the reply from FRreedman is right - there's no one 'normal'.
Bloating is definitely a typical & common symptom.
Thin, soft stool types can also happen: I've had them recently while recovering from a diarrhoea flare. Have a google of 'Bristol stool chart'.

*It's very important to not self-diagnose* - you need the doctor to rule out other possibilites.
