Colestyramine Light Shortage -- any ideas

I've just spent an hour on the phone trying to track down Colestytramine light but no luck. The NHS reported on this potential shortage last year: sps.nhs.uk/articles/shortag...

They state "Colestyramine light 4g sachets – Mylan – (recently launched) available in wholesalers from week commencing 10 February 2020". However, it is now April and no one seems to have it.

Any ideas on where to get this product?

Are you in England?

If you were near me i would try to get some to you, as i have an abundance of the powder, non lite. Pretty sure it would be illegal to do so.

I think it depends on which wholesalers the pharmacies have accounts with. I live in Suffolk and my dispensary does not have any trouble getting the Mylan brand since Questran went out of production. You could try speaking to the Medicines Management team at your own CCG or if you've seen a consultant at a hospital for your condition you could ask for a hospital prescription
